Boxes for a Cause: Organizations That Are Paying It Forward

You can purchase practically anything online these days. From food and beverages to clothes and electronic gadgets, you can have them delivered right to your doorstep in no time. But aside from things that you want to buy for yourself or your loved ones, you can also buy packages or sign up for subscription boxes from brands and organizations that want to give back to the community.

If you are looking to pay it forward this month, you can show your support for any of these worthy causes.

HONEYBEE GIVING

Honeybee Giving was founded as a means for customers and the community to express gratitude for those who put their lives on the line to ensure that we stay safe and healthy. The Honeybee Giving Team has curated a selection of care packages as a way to make it easy for you to thank the tireless healthcare heroes.

Some of the care packages may include a vacuum insulated stainless steel bottle, tote bag made from recycled materials, scented candle in soothing eucalyptus & mint scent, Honeybee Giving pen made from bamboo, lip balm, and more.

According to their website, a portion of every sale will be donated to The Brave of Heart Fund, which is an organization that provides charitable relief grants to support the families of healthcare workers who lost their lives to COVID-19.

COMMAND COUNSELING CENTER

Command Counseling Center contracts with cities that care for their first responders' mental health. Our exposure to the first responder industry opened our eyes to the evident gap in mental health services for those who serve us every day.

One too many times we were hearing how first responders were admitting to completing their suicide plans after reaching out to their employee assistance program (EAP) therapists or their insurance in network therapists. They felt they were not understood, could not connect, and lost all hope that someone could help them,” says Marie G. Guma, Founder of Command Counseling Center.

The boxes were used to send hand sanitizers to responders. The inner panels of the boxes are printed with a message that states: "You deserve mental health's best therapists and best practices!” as well as the contact information of the Command Counseling Center.

“We know as the stigma is reduced; many first responders will be knocking on our door. We understand that what they are exposed to every day on the job makes them much more susceptible physiologically to mental health issues. So, we are here to support them and also educate them on ways to counterbalance the inherent psychological risks of their career choice,” Marie added.

Project Sweet Peas is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower and support families of fragile infants and to inspire hope through remembrance for those affected by pregnancy and infant loss. They provide care packages, bereavement packages, and other support services to families who have a newborn in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

“We have used Packola boxes for our NICU care packages, graduation packages, and sibling packages. All the boxes have a "pea pod" theme. We love how the boxes elevate our package presentation,” says Corin Nava, Treasurer and Co-Founder of Project Sweet Peas.
