How to Assemble Product Boxes
How to Assemble Your Custom Boxes
When you order custom boxes, they are shipped flat, unassembled. This makes them cheaper to ship, easier to store, and minimizes damage during transit. Your custom mailer boxes will arrive in a small flat box that can be stored anywhere and won’t take up too much space. Having them come fully assembled instead could come with some logistical issues, such as having to sort out storage space for a bulky box.
The question that always pops up is ‘Are these easy to assemble?’ Yes, they are. Here’s a quick guide on how to you can easily assemble one of the most common types of boxes – the regular slotted container.
- Prepare your work area. Choose a clean, flat area where you have plenty of space to maneuver.
- Place the flat box in front of you. Start right side up and turn it over.
- Pull the box open and fold each flap over.
- Ensuring each edge lines up, seal with packing tape.

Creative Ways to Reinforce Your Custom Boxes
While assembling your box is pretty straightforward, creative minds have found ways to strengthen and reinforce custom boxes. Our custom boxes are durable by themselves, yet taking note of these tips will go a long way in prolonging the durability and effectiveness of your packaging.
- Add a liner – Adding a paper or cardboard liner distributes the weight of the products inside your box. This takes away the brunt of the work from the box which works wonders especially if it’s a heavy load.
- Tape the insides – Another way of reinforcing your box is to tape the insides, particularly the joints and edges. This strengthens the weak areas of the box.
- Reinforce the corners – You can use leftover cardboard and place them along the corners of your custom box. This provides additional strength to the box’s corners.
